To find articles on this topic, you may want to find articles that define or reflect on Aristotle’s definition of a tragic hero in relation to Oedipus as a character. To do so, please employ one or more of the following methods:
Articles in EBSCO QuickSearch
- Start on the main library page.
- To the right, under Databases by Subject select Browse All Databases.
- On the A-Z Databases page, select the letter E.
- Then, scroll down and select EBSCO QuickSearch.
- Once in the database, use the first bar in the top left and type in Oedipus.
- Use the second line, next to AND, and type in Tragic Hero.
- Then click Search.
- When the results come up, look on the left under Limit To and make sure to click Scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals.
Articles in ProQuest Central
- Start on the main library page.
- To the right, under Databases by Subject select Browse All Databases.
- On the A-Z Databases page, select the letter P.
- Scroll down and then select ProQuest Central.
- When the database loads, type in Oedipus Tragic Hero in the search bar. Also, select Peer Review underneath the search bar and then click the search icon.
- To view only scholarly articles, look on the left side of the search results under Source Type and select Scholarly Journals.
Articles in JSTOR
- Start on the main library page.
- To the right, under Databases by Subject select Browse All Databases.
- On the A-Z Databases page, select the letter J.
- Scroll down and then select JSTOR.
- Once you select JSTOR, notice the two search bars on the left side. On the first line, type in quotations the play “Oedipus.”
- Look a little further down under Narrow Results and make sure to select just Articles.
- Finally, scroll down and look under Narrow by Discipline and/or journal and make sure to select Language and Literature.
- Once you do that, go back up and click Search.
